Carnival Fun!
A fabulous time was had by all our students, in a wide variety of costumes on Friday 9 February. ISL celebrated Carnival in full force with games, crafts, painting and delicious pancakes for everyone!

January brought unusually heavy snowfall for Leuven which, of course, meant plenty of fun filled snow play during recess. The students delighted in snow angel and snowman making as well as the obligatory snowball or two!

Our students were delighted to visit our neighbours, WZC Home Vogelzang to perform a selection of songs from our winter concert, ‘The Nutcracker Suite’. This was a fabulous opportunity for our students and the older generation loved seeing their enthusiasm and talent on full display! What a joyous occasion 🙂

Our first Halloween in our new school was a fantastically spooktacular event! The students had a wonderful time dressing up and creating some impressive jack o lanterns to compete in the annual ISL pumpkin carving competition. This week our students paid a visit to our neighbours, WZC Home Vogelzang to collaborate on a wonderful new art project. Our students practiced their Dutch skills and thoroughly enjoyed their time spent with this different generation of learners. It was wonderful for our students to see creativity never stops!

Earlier this week, our students from Grades 5 & 6 were granted permission by the city of Leuven to dress the statue of Fons Sapientiae, (or Fonske as he is affectionately known in Leuven) in an ISL t-shirt! This was a very proud moment for our students as the statue represents Leuven’s abundant student life.
