Today was an exciting day for our students as Leuven’s Mayor, Mohamed Ridouani and Deputy Mayor, Lalynn Wadera, visited the School to hear about the actions taken by ISL to embed the Sustainable Development Goals into the curriculum. They were delighted to exchange ideas with the Mayor and tell him of the different actions they had taken to raise awareness of the SDG’s in our community, from a climate change protest to plastic recycling and ecological community designs.
The students were eager to learn about Leuven 2030 and the city’s actions towards a climate neutral city and, School 2030, a project to encourage sustainable curriculum development in Leuven schools! Fantastic!
Yesterday we celebrated healthy living with a Sport and Fitness day! We danced, exercised, ran and jumped our way to stronger bodies and made energy packed smoothies in recognition of the important role nutrition plays in our lives. There was such a strong sense of sportsmanship and team spirit as the Sport’s Day Cup was raised!
