A Visit to Fonske!

Earlier this week, our students from Grades 5 & 6 were granted permission by the city of Leuven to dress the statue of Fons Sapientiae, (or Fonske as he is affectionately known in Leuven) in an ISL t-shirt!  This was a very proud moment for our students as the statue represents Leuven’s abundant student life.  The name translates to ‘Source of Wisdom’.  The water which flows symbolises knowledge flowing into his head.  An intricate mathematics formula is scrawled over the front cover of the book he is holding that, when solved, forms the Dutch word for happiness.

How apt that Fonske’s latest wardrobe addition comes from ISL, our school which is overflowing with both learning and happiness!
